The need for a rating system.
Censorship? Not necessarily.
Ratings are different than Censorship. The
content is not really inhibited rather it is catalogued for the viewer to
decide if they should proceed based on their own state of being.
Censorship actually cuts off the material.
I think that ratings serve as signposts to guide travelers on the path to
enlightenment. As signposts they provide the viewer heightened mental
preparedness to deal with and process the information. It gives the
viewer the choice to proceed.
I believe in the right to free speech. I also believe that information should
not necessarily be forced on another. Information
should be tempered with reason, wisdom, and understanding. Some things should
not be thrust on people who are not mature enough to process the
information. Some information if presented in a certain fashion may be
detrimental to the learner.
Words are very powerful and should be wielded responsibly.
